I reported in my previous e-newsletter of my renewed approach on achieving resurfacing work in Holly Bank Road. I know that this has been an issue for residents for many year and it has stayed on the "to-do" list for Surrey County Council because of the way that work priorities are calculated.
I have decided to change to a strategy that fits in better around those priorities at the cost of getting the entire road done. There are sections of the middle of the road where no work is necessary and leaving those out of any work gives a better chance of addressing the areas that need it.
A week ago, I met with highways officers on site to discuss this approach and they were positive about how to go about it - from giving me contact details of people to speak to about possible addition funding to suggesting which areas of the road could be prioritised first.
At the moment, these would be the area on the junction with Hook Heath Avenue, Golf Club Road up to around two-thirds of the way to Mile Path and then at the other end, the junction with Hook Heath Road to just past the entrance to Woodbank. It may be that more could be done depending on addition funding.
I have been pursuing the routes suggested by the officers this week and will provide updates as they occur. I'm hopefully of some action on this road, finally, within the next year or so.
